Irwinville School

The Irwinville School was torn down in the late 1970s, I believe.

The Irwinville school was kept running until the early 60’s. The property was bought by Irwinville Peanut & Grain and torn down in the late 70’s or early 80’s. I remember going in the school in the late 60’s to find walls with colorful graffiti, peace signs and mattresses where people had camped out there.

    • Thanks, Randy. I still hate that it was torn down, but the condition you describe of the place in the 1960s probably led to the decision to tear it down. I wish someone had taken pictures of the place the way you remember it…
